Beer Tastes: O’Fallon Smoked Porter

I saw this last week at the liquor store, but I didn’t have the $12… It was a Lite night, so sue me… Ha! That’s a non-sexual double entendre… Who knew those even existed?
I saw the words smoked porter, and knew I would taste that beer at some point though…
Tonight is the night.

The smell wafting out of the bottle is indeed smoky. And kind of rich, looker fatty bacon, but more appetizing… Hehe
The flavor is strong, but fades quickly…and it is smoke smoke, rich smoke… But that heavy richness fades so it doesn’t become too much…
I’m not won over. I almost want some other flavor to come over…
Not bad, but probably not a brew I’ll pick up again.

Abandoning palm… Though, they left first…

When the palm Pre came out, I was excited… So much potential…
I finally got mine, & it was awesome!
I could multi-task… Take great pics, even cruise porn sites I’m a big fan of…
Then… The nature of palm started coming through… Slow updates for firmware, pay apps that other platforms offer freely,& no new devices.
WebOS is awesome, possibly the best mobile OS on the market. & yet… Palm just rested on its potential.
I switched to android… It’s still not an iphone, but it’s at least competitive…
& PS… The samsung epic screen… Truly is all that.

Ever hear the proverb about the three blind men & the elephant?
-Three blind men were shown an elephant, & asked to describe it. The 1st felt it’s trunk & said it was like a snake. The 2nd felt it’s leg & said it was like a tree. The 3rd felt it’s tail & said it was like a thin rope.-

Each man described what he experienced, & was partially right.
This is an excellent metaphor for how I relate to religion. & possibly life in general.
What I, as one person, experience can hardly sum up the whole of life. It’s always good to remind yourself of how little you know in the grand scheme.
All things considered; How wise can one man be?

Technology seriously rocks!!
Sure… We are slowly forgetting how to enunciate words. We can’t communicate with one other beyond the busstop conversation topics. “Yes, works is indeed, hard.”
But… !!
My entire music collection can now fit on a metallic sliver that fits into the useless pocket of my jeans.
Assuming I don’t upgrade to mindlessly larger files for every song I almost own, I can squeeze every emotional attachment to my tiny, useless, jeans pocket.
That pocket can now contain my vulnerability… I’m so strong!

I’ll check out the window! Hhmmm… There’s the trails of the bottle rockets, lighting along…

But… What if it’s just to cover up the “real” gunshot sound?

Ahhh… Tv, it’s so comforting.

(GASP) Gunshots again! Oh… Just fireworks, see?
